The following organisations are either based at, use and/or have at least potentially significant connections with the airfield (as at 01/07/2013): Eastwick & Gilston Parish Council Hunsdon Local History & Preservation Society RAF Hunsdon was built by several agencies or contractors, the main contractor for the Perimeter Track and Runway's were George Wimpey & Co Ltd, and most of the Building's were built by HJ Janes of Luton Ltd. Work was started on the 9th of October 1940 and the airfield officially opened on the 4th of May 1941.

This airfield was built by the Americans themselves for the US Ninth Air force, and their twin engined B-26 Martin Marauder Bombers. Work began in October 1940 and the airfield was to be a sattelite of nearby North Weald under RAF Fighter Command. Work was overseen by Wing Commander Pike. The runways and perimeter track were built by George Wimpey and Sons. The width of the perimeter track was 35 feet, and the runways were of the standard 150 foot.
